Charles Bothuell’s Parents Charged with Torture

Do you remember the case of Charles Bothuell, Jr, 13, who was reported missing by his dad and step-mom last June? Charles Bothuell, Sr., was on TV with Nancy Grace when she reported they found his son on LIVE TV two weeks later. You can see the footage above.

When this segment aired, I wrote saying I didn’t believe Charles Bothuell, Sr., at all when he reacted as Nancy Grace told him. He knew what happened to his boy without question. There were tell-tale signs if you understand human behavior and body language.

Last Friday Charles Bothuell Jr.’s dad and step-mom were arrested, and charged with torture and child abuse of their son. It’s a first for Wayne county to charge someone of torture when the person is still alive.

Both parents can face a maximum sentence of life in prison.

It’s always good news when the truth is prevails!  These two needs to be held accountable for what they did to little Charles. He looks like a fine young man!

Yes, little Charles does look like a fine young man! You can’t miss his sparkle, he held on to that! Did anyone read a motive for them going so far as to report him missing? Were they worried about getting caught about the abuse or did they have even worse future plans? Thankfully the police found him when they did. I hope they regret not loving him every day of thier lives.

Finally, one of our missing children gets justice. The father is not over-joyed at hearing his son had been found. I don’t know why they would report him missing, when they knew all along where he was. I wonder if he had marks from beatings that they were waiting to heal up. Someone must have alerted police, and they must have moved him from the basement until they thought the coast was clear. Somehow, they got caught. (Just speculation)

Good theory karon. Maybe they were just trying to go with he ran away until he healed up and then it snowballed out of control. What were the odds the father would be sitting live on Nancy Grace when he gets told the police found his son? I wish she had asked better questions then! But, we didn’t know then. It’s hard to want to accuse a parent 🙁 even if so many times it turns out that way.

Yes, I agree, Remi. We don’t want to believe parents would mistreat their children. So many times, they don’t get in as much trouble for abuse, as they should. From the sounds of this, however, it sounds like the parents are in a lot of trouble. I am surprised that they haven’t had the other two children removed from their home, yet. That should be the first thing to happen.

I looked some articles up on this, and the father admitted to hitting his son with a PVC pipe. He would get the boy up in the morning an make him do an abusive amount of exercise, and he wasn’t being fed well. I don’t know what has taken so long for them to get the other children out o the home. They aren’t allowed any contact with the boy, who was abused.

The boy has been living with his mother since all of this happened. There are two other children living with this father, and they are trying to remove them from the home.

        Thanks for answering.

I see that he says “oh shit” at 0:53

can someone look at 3:33 because to me thats where it looks like he says “I’m Sorry” and he says it again a little after that.
Maybe he is talking to someone off camera.
Thats the under the breath comment I thought eyes was talking about.
