OJ Simpson’s Lost Confession: Did you see it?

I must confess that I had no idea this was going to be on or I would have recorded it! But I can say the short clips I have seen of this show had my jaw on the floor.

Simpson says he is talking”hypothetically” as he supposedly recounts the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown.

From the clips I’ve watched, there is nothing hypothetical about it.

Are we seeing a chilling, cold calculating killer bask in the limelight again knowing he is immune from punishment?

Are we seeing the arrogance of a man who believes he can fool still fool people?

Are we seeing a deranged killer who loves toying with people and being the center of attention?

I plan to watch this show in full this weekend to get a clear picture of what is going on here!

The Evasive Betsy DeVos: A Great Study

If you caught CBS 60 Minutes this weekend, you got to watch the U.S. Secretary on Education, Betsy DeVos, answer pointed questions. She was a fascinating study in human behavior!

DeVos is highly skilled at the “social” or shall we say “fake” smile. She pulls it off with ease and I no doubt that many people looking at her smile would say she is sincere. Can you see that?

She’s also highly skilled at saying what she wants you to hear–directly avoiding answering questions of her.

This is a highly manipulative technique.

When people chose not to answer questions directly, that should be a huge red flag for you. When people are manipulative to this degree, I say WOW– take notice!

What good comes of this behavior?  I say that seriously.

People who are honest are happy to answer questions and talk about all facets of a situation.

Liars, however, will try to direct you to only what they want to talk about, which will never benefit you.  Only them.

Decoding Body Language: Funny Video!

This is a great video to watch in the study of body language.

As you can see immediately, this isn’t even filmed in an English speaking country, but as you watch, you will see that we all respond the same!  We are the same regardless of language, though culture can and does have influential affects on behavior and body language.

Watch this video as this man eats his ice cream cone in a very seductive way.

It’s fascinating to see how the people around him respond. It’s flat out hilarious!

Then watch the people’s expressions as the man gets up.

What emotional and physical responses do you see?  What do they indicate?  I will share comments with you in the comment section.

And last, was there a telltale give away that you could have picked up live in this situation that would give you a strong indicator the man wasn’t blind (my favorite part!) and that he was using the cane as a rouse?  Do you see it?

Tomato Deception. Yes, seriously.

So this weekend, with fall fast approaching in the north, I decided to go out for some farm-fresh tomatoes so I can cook them into a heavenly sauce and freeze fresh packets of summer for a long winter. I didn’t do this for a couple of years and I miss it.

I’ve noticed with our heavy rains this year, the tomatoes I’ve bought so far haven’t been the greatest. Everywhere I went, they are bruised, look beat up and just not appetizing. And the ones I ate? They were tough, and flavorless.  So I drove around to a few new places.   One farm that I entered had nice looking tomatoes for sale right out front in wooden baskets.  I figured I could work with those.   I went in to inquire about the cost of a half-a-bushel.  I was told that those wouldn’t be sold by the bushel, but they had “slicer” tomatoes in back that I could buy in bulk.

“Slicer?”  I thought that didn’t sound right.  Who grows “slicer” tomatoes?  I hadn’t heard of that before.

I went back and looked at the ones they wouldn’t sell me and I noticed the boxes they were sitting in were professionally printed boxes that had the correct name for each type they contained. That seemed odd.  I then went back inside and when I questioned the girl if they were grown on their farm, she told me no, they bought these tomatoes.

Hello!  I feel like I am living in an alternate reality sometimes. How does that make sense???

I was shocked.  I’m in farm fields for miles and miles and I want to buy tomatoes and they aren’t growing them. They are buying them!!  And its profitable for them to sell them?   Well, of course, it is!  They are selling them as if they were homegrown when they aren’t. I can guarantee dozens and dozens of unsuspecting customers paid for “farm” grown tomatoes and got greenhouse.

Just wow.

Unbelievable, isn’t it?

Next time you think you are getting farm-fresh — you might want to ask first where it was grown. I certainly will going forward!

Family of Thieves (20/20)

Did you catch 20/20 this past weekend?  The show featured the story of the criminal Cabello family as they stole nearly $4 million in orchestrated bank-related heists.

Archie Cabello found a life of a crime was lucrative for him because he was able to out-smart the system time-and-time again, but finally after decades, the law caught up with him.

If you haven’t watched the story, I highly recommend it. It’s fascinating.

In thinking about the whole story, a few thoughts ran through my mind, one of which was:  Do you really think Archie’s family turned on him?

Or was it part of his intelligent genius to have his family “save themselves” from a life of prison by talking and pointing the finger at him?

Wouldn’t that be the ultimate con gaming the system one last time?

Archie was certainly smart enough to save his wife and son, don’t you think?

I think they put on a big game in their dislike for one another, and what flagged me to this was the fact that Vincent, who supposedly turned Archie in (after the cops discovered their 100 credit cards) wouldn’t speak to the media about how “wronged he was” by his father.  If you are willing to go to the police and turn your father in, you’d be willing to talk about it. But Vincent had no interest. Neither did his wife.

It makes you go “Hmmm….”

Furthermore, I was surprised that the banks never hired a private investigator to put surveillance on the Cabello family to recover their money.  I mean why not pay someone to follow them 24/7?  It would be pennies compared to their losses.  The Cabellos had to get money from somewhere and they should have been easily able to track where the loot was, right?  The Cabellos did put a large portion of their money in a safe at a company after all. Archie and the family rarely worked so they had to get money from somewhere.  It seems like a no-brainer, doesn’t it?

They still have $1.8M unaccounted for, and you know Vincent and Archie’s wife will have to access it at some point.
