Anesthesiologist Caught and Exposed

This is really hard to listen to if you put yourself in the patient’s shoes who woke up after a colonoscopy and realized he had recorded the whole procedure. He didn’t mean to do so, but he did it by accident. And what he hears is shocking.

Dr. Tiffany M. Ingham is as unprofessional, cold and callous as they come and worst of all, she came up with a fake diagnosis to give the man even more hell he didn’t deserve when she said, “I’m going to mark ‘hemorrhoids’ even though we don’t see them and probably won’t.” Then she put the diagnosis in the man’s chart!  She flat out lied!

The victim was awarded $500,000 in a lawsuit, however, no discipline actions have been taken against Dr. Ingham, which I find really disheartening. This is a woman who gave the oath to do no harm, and she clearly violated that. She shows no respect for this patient whatsoever.

Sadly, most patients don’t know who they will get as an anesthesiologist when going under for a medical procedure or surgery. They typically don’t tell you who it will be, and you rarely see them.  Or if you do, it’s only at the very last minute when you can do nothing about it!

If you live in Florida, news reports say she is now living down by you and working there now. If you have to go under, I would certainly recommend that ask who your anesthesiologist is ahead of time so you can avoid this one. She clearly has serious issues that I don’t think will be resolved even by the exposure of this incident.

So ridiculous! So inhuman! As a teen I cleaned a doctor’s office. I was immediately disillusioned about his professionalism when every night he would make fun of his patients. He particularly enjoyed making fun of the women and making fun of their bodies. If a woman was overweight at all he had so many nasty comments about specific aspects of her body. And who did he do this with? The female staff of his office and they’d laugh and hoot and join in on the fun. It was disgusting and it is always in my mind when I see a doctor now. I tend to assume that a doctor is professional and humane and doesn’t do that sort of thing, but if I get the slightest vibe that one would, I won’t return to him/her.

Not surprised. id rather get verbal abuse than be murdered by that lunatic u showed us several months back. I forget her name, she murdered her patients and took selfies with them. Victim got off light, worse is being done to other people.

I’m sure anyone would rather be treated as a fellow human being.

The victim did well out of it – not so the practice – $200,000 in punitive charges.

In the words of the juror: “We finally came to a conclusion,” Khairzada said, “that we have to give him something, just to make sure that this doesn’t happen again.”

      And for all their intelligence:
‘The doctors argued that the Vienna man did not suffer any physical injury or miss any days of work.’

Great argument! They deserved to be punished. Stupidity shouldn’t be rewarded.

Can you imagine being that patient and hearing that? I am not sure if I would have gotten angry or cried first. Then scared. I mean, if they are going to say that they were going to mark hemorrhoids that weren’t there, and were that busy talking and goofing off during a procedure, I have to wonder what they DID miss. I hope the patient got a once over by a good doc after this stint just to make sure he was ok. Stuff like this makes me never want to go to the doctor’s office ever again.

if anything, this is insight to what doctors do and say behind our backs. of course not all doctors are as evil and most are professional. but as in any office, there is resentment and frustration, and people lash out. unfortunate for her she was busted, but at least this shatters the illusion that all doctors are looking out for our best interest, and a wake up call to be on your guard no matter who it is and place trust when it’s earned.

In general, 1) not all doctors are in it for the good of their patients 2) even those that are are often following guidelines set by various boards and cannot be expected to know everything about everything. Always educate yourself as much as possible and don’t view your doctor as more than a resource. They are not gods.

This doesn’t surprise me, at all. Having worked for two doctors and their staff, it was an eye-opener. I am very aware that gossip can be carried all over town by people working in a hospital or doctor’s office, and that isn’t even getting to the place of neglect and not doing the patient right in a medical sense. Believe me, I research and keep up with medicines I am allergic to and my own health problems. It is not enough to tell them once, you have to keep telling them over and over. Even after you have told them, watch out for an assistant that will try to argue you out of your diagnosis. I had that happen to me about a year ago. So I made an appointment with my regular doctor, and he was hopping mad at the assistant. Please take someone with you, if you are going to be under anesthesia!

Yes, very unprofessional, especially the anesthesiologist’s remarks. Now that this horrible incident has been exposed publicly, I wonder if she will be required to undergo some sort of therapy for her obvious emotional problems. The only thing I still don’t understand is how the recorder ended up in the OR? I’ve undergone anesthesia a couple of times in the past 5 years, and each time, even my earrings had to be removed, and they ask whether or not I wear contacts or dentures (I don’t), and they check my mouth anyway. So how on earth did the recorder somehow get into the OR undetected?
