He sounds completely excited to me, which doesn’t sound anything like scared or worried.
He even suggests what happened to her. Interesting. He never entertains she could have simply dropped her phone. Hmmm….I wonder why?!
He is full of hot spots and I do not believe him one inch. Do you?
I’m unsettled by his tone at the 0:27 mark. “Soooo I got freaked out”. This sounds rehearsed and he speaks in the past tense.
Why fake it? Did they want some kind of fame? They also said she was down to 87lbs! Yeesh, who would do that to themselves?
What do they hope to gain if this is a scam?

He didn’t think she’d dropped the phone because several strands of her hair were wrapped up in the earbuds, which he disclosed to the operator.
The set of earbuds that were nice and neatly wrapped around the cell phone and gently placed on ground. Yea right
It has not been widely reported that the couple started a crowdfunding appeal just after the story came out. There’s your motive, plus gullible media attention. They are covering up something.
