Gary Coleman’s Parents, Sue and Willie Coleman on the Today Show

Are the Coleman’s being honest about not taking money from their son?

Read moreThis is an interesting interview to watch because there is a clear history between Gary Coleman and his parents that was fought out in a court case. In 1989, Gary Coleman sued his parents and former business manager for stealing his trust fund. At the time of the lawsuit, Gary’s parents fought back with a counter suit for defamation and for breach of contract. They never gave up that lawsuit, they fought it to the end, and Gary won.

It’s fascinating to sit here and watch them play all innocent. They should stand up and say that they believed they were owed that money, if that is what they felt, but they aren’t. Why? Instead they play ignorant as to why they are estranged. They obviously had a serious disagreement about much money they were due, if not other disputes. I’m not buying they believe they are estranged because Gary got outside influence. He got a “different” input and maybe that woke him up!

I suspect these two have convinced themselves that they didn’t “steal” anything from their son. People who do things that are questionable often have selective memories or go into denial, because, after all, who wants to remember “their ugly”?

I believe Gary had valid reasons for cutting off his parents for 20 years. He felt so strongly he left them out of his will entirely and specifically. That’s a very strong statement that I think Gary felt he had to make, out of fear they might have contested his last wishes.

Your Opinion (Poll): Facial Expressions

CHICAGO, IL - JUNE 3: Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich (L) puts on his belt after going through security for his trial on corruption charges at the Dirksen Federal Building on June 3, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois. Blagojevich is defending himself against 24 counts of corruption including devising plans to profit from the appointment of the Illinois Senate seat formerly held by President Barack Obama. Yesterday USA Today reported that Blago was warned to stop making gestures and facial expressions during his trial, which started last week.

Imagine for a minute that you are one of the jurors in the trial, and you saw Blago making facial expressions to words spoken (rolling eyes, shaking his head, showing disbelief), and gesturing (such as a waving his hand downward indicating that’s nonsense).

How would that impact your opinion of him?

I have a feeling of how Blago’s behavior will impact his credibility, but I’d like to hear from you. I will share my thoughts in the comment section in the next few days. Click on the labels to read my thoughts about Blago.

Todd Bridges, co-star of Diff’rent Strokes, who starred along with Gary Coleman, told Radar Online this week that Gary Coleman, like all actors, has a pension worth a lot of money. “He may have died with no money, but his pension is huge.”

Shannon Price: Claims Common Law Wife Status

Young Couple Holding Hands at Street Cafe

The Associated Press has an interesting news article out today about Shannon Price and her efforts to claim Gary’s estate. In it, they report she filed a petition with the courts to be appointed as the special administrator for Gary’s estate and funeral services. She also is claiming the status of being Gary’s common law wife.

I believe Shannon Price will use every tool, trick or stick in the book to get what her little heart desires. She has supposedly produced a hand written note from Gary that was allegedly written one month after they wed in 2007 where he states that he leaves everything to his wife.

Pencil and Paper

The AP reports that the note says this:

I made this change of free will and was not coerced in any way. This I have done because of my personal selfishness and my weakness and I love her with all my heart.

I didn’t know this, but Gary and Shannon met in 2005 on the set of a movie.

Look at these poll results from last week. I’ve never seen a poll so stacked to one side before.

Joran van der Sloot in Tac Hotel Hallway

“El Comercio,” a Peruvian newspaper, has a video (thanks, Jade!) of Joran in the hallway of the Tac Hotel the day Stephany Flores was believed to be murdered at 8:35 am. The narrator speaks in Spanish, however, but it is still interesting to watch his behavior. The headline for the story in the paper translate to something like, “The Dutch citizen wanted to cover up his crime with a trick that involved the TAC hotel staff.” You can see the translated article here.

Joran comes out of the room with two cups of coffee in his hand, and appears to check the door a couple of times immediately after exiting the room to make sure the door is locked. Then watch Joran act like he is knocking at the door, though he never touches it. He then looks around and pulls hard on the door again, as if to check that is it in fact locked. He never acts as if he is surprised or mad, like you would expect, if he locked himself out of the room by accident.

Watch as he continues to fake knocks again and looks around only to check the door again. Joran finally leaves and at one point, and we can see him look straight into the security camera, which tells us he knew it was there. Perhaps he thought it would be grainy and not clear? If so, he underestimated it, didn’t he?

After two minutes, Joran appears once more, and this time he has the hotel staff let him in the room. She doesn’t appear to even look in the room and then Joran enters.

By the article title, I suspect they believe Joran was contemplating pulling some shenanigans and perhaps hoping to have the staff discover Stephany’s body, but he decided against it, perhaps when she didn’t discover Flores.

It’s fascinating to see inside the mind of a liar, isn’t it? And yet very creepy!!

I’ve written extensively on Joran van der Sloot. In the search box to the right, type in his name to see all of my posts come up in Google.
