“Joran ….Accused of Murder In Peru”

ABC News video on Joran being accused of murder in Peru

Joran van der Sloot: Suspect in Lima Murder

Joran van der Sloot is in the news again. He has been named as the chief suspect in the murder of Stephany Flores Ramirez, 21, of Peru, who was found stabbed to death in the Tac hotel this morning in the Miraflores district. According to the news reports that I am translating, it appears that Joran has fled Peru on Monday for Chile.

PeruTV is reporting that the police found Joran van der Sloot’s footprints. PeruTV is also reporting that the police are saying that Stephany was dating the Dutchman and liked to gamble and play poker.

Ramirez is the daughter of a businessman and race car driver, Ricardo Flores. Reports are saying that Joran arrived in Peru on May 14, and met Stephany in the Miraflores district, an upscale district in Lima for shopping, dining, and clubbing. According to Wikipedia, it is a hot spot for teenagers and young adults as there are many pubs.

RPP.COM.PE is reporting that Stephany was killed sometime after 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

What is the biggest lie you’ve ever been told?

View of brightly lit room from doorway of a dark room

I thought I’d ask you: What is the biggest lie you’ve ever been told? Do you want to share it with us? I know there are some whoppers out there…Maybe you can help others by sharing your story…

Did you see any clues to the lie? Do you see any now in hindsight that you aren’t so close to the situation anymore?

I usually take off this week and I am going to be stepping away from the computer for the next few days to take a break. The hubster is off and we just plan on relaxing and enjoying ourselves. I will check messages and comments, but I may be slower to respond. I hope you understand. Sometimes its good to clear the brain and get refreshed!

Larry James, Julie James and Jesse

Jesse James Gets Back To His Normal Life!

There is an interesting video of Larry James responding to claims by his son, Jesse, that he was abused over at RadarOnline.

Larry is relaxed and his words flow, which is supportive of honesty. When we watch his facial expressions and emotions, they, too, are supportive of his words. When we further compare his interview and behavior to James’ interview and behavior, I think it becomes clear who appears most trustworthy. It isn’t Jesse.

In the process of looking for a linkable video of Larry, I found an article by TMZ that I thought was fascinating. Jesse James’ sister, Julie, supports Jesse in that she believed he was abused.

What is fascinating, however, if TMZ’s post is accurate and truthful, it puts Jesse in a bad light. In his Nightline interview, Jesse talked of snapping his wrist when going over the fence for the ball that night his dad yelled at him. Then later, Jesse brings up that his dad broke his arm, as if to suggest it was a different incident. Well, according to TMZ and Julie, it was one in the same. Oops! Is he busted?

I wondered if these two were the same incident and according to two of Jesse’s family members, it was! It’s not looking good for Jesse. Did his sister just dig his hole bigger for him?

Susan Murphy-Milano’s Insight

Mexico, Guanajuato, Colorful houses on hill

Susan Murphy-Milano’ writes an intriguing post about Bruce and Monica Beresford-Redman that is well worth reading. How many people travel to foreign countries, and have no idea of the laws of the country where they are going? Have you ever thought about how the laws of another country could aid a person with bad intentions and allow that person to escape justice?

Few people think about that when they travel to exotic locales for sun and fun, or to rejuvenate a troubled relationship. If you’ve never given it thought, its well worth a minute. Had Monica’s family thought about it, and considered the risks, it may have saved her life.

If you know someone who is in a troubled or violent relationship, Susan’s new book, Time’s Up, is the perfect gift. It’s also got a five star review! I love what she has come up with:

If you, as a reader, are not aware of what an Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit is, it is a formal signed and notarized series of documents, along with video testimony, that can be used in a court of law if someone in a violent relationship is either missing or murdered. It can bypass all hearsay laws because it’s done in the “potential” victim’s own voice, own words and used like a will in the event that something happens.

Have you ever seen “Locked Up Abroad” on NatGeo? It’s haunting….the stuff of nightmares. It shows how little most Americans know about foreign justice and makes you think twice of traveling, which I have always been very fond of.
