There is an interesting study about how the color red influences our beliefs on the person wearing it! Check this out…

Women don’t trust other women who wear red around their spouse or significant other!

48 Hours: Radley Horwitz

(Originally posted December 2013)
Radley was the son of Lanny and Donna Horwitz. They were a blessed family with lots of money to live the good life, but life wasn’t good for Lanny and Donna. The two separated and divorced multiple times and upon the last reconciling, things were still tainted between them as another woman was in the scene.

So when Lanny ended up dead, the mystery was who did it? The case is long and involved, but eventually a court of law determined that it was Lanny’s first love, Donna, to whom he was married previously and had recently reconciled with who did it. They believed she had motive…the motive of jealousy because of the other woman. But the case was all circumstantial.

When 48 Hours aired this story a week ago, one person dropped a boat load of red flags and I can tell you unequivocally, I didn’t believe him whatsoever. That person is Lanny’s son, Radley. While I cannot conclusively rule out Donna as being involved, Radley was hotter than a potato out of the oven. I have little doubt he knows exactly what happened and could have easily been the killer — protected by his mother after the fact as she knows he is young and has his whole life ahead of him and a daughter to raise.

Radley is egotistical and arrogant, and quite frankly a chip off the old block. They say people who are alike either love each other or hate each other. With Radley and Lanny, it turned to hate.

Radley’s “stories” were over-the-top and his behaviors were unnatural at every turn. He had me crawling up the walls that he was never looked at as a suspect.

I do not trust one word Radley said to 48 Hours or on the stand.

Charles Bothuell, Sr. and Missing Son

Last night on Nancy Grace a father found out his 12-year old missing son was found alive in the father’s basement. You get to witness a rare moment being recorded on TV when the father finds out.

We couldn’t ask for better footage to get to the truth in this case.

Do I believe Charles Bothuell, Sr. was surprised that they found his son?

No. I do not. Not at all.

Instead, I see someone shell shocked, caught on camera thinking like crazy what the hell happened and how he was going to handle it.

Charles doesn’t show any concern for the well being of his son nor does he seem curious about what happened.

The fact he doesn’t get up and get to his son’s side bothers me, too.

And when I see the father who is quite void of emotions give the celebratory arms, he leaks anger in partial form which is inconsistent with a man who is happy his son has been found.

And if you listen closely, we hear Charles say something telling. Very telling under his breath.

Does anyone hear it?

It says it all.

I bet you can’t resist the urge…

I bet you can’t resist the urge…to laugh after watching this!

We are hired wired. When we feel an emotion, we express it.  When we express it, we conversely feel it.

So I can be pretty sure everyone who watches this video will break out laughing or at least have a big smile on their face (if they are truly paying attention). It is highly likely you will feel genuinely happy.

Happy Smiles!

Can you see the dog, Lola, question, “Why are you laughing at me? What did I do?” She seems oblivious her fur is standing up. Too funny!

How Chewing Gum Affects Your Perception

It’s probably contrary to what you think, but I also think it depends on how you “chew it” too!

What I think we see here is that “stiff people” are perceived as cold. Movement causes us to relate more to people and it makes them more approachable.

However, I also suspect if you have a bunch of people chewing with disregard (i.e. smacking lips, making noises, opening their mouth wide), it would turn back the other direction and people would see them as unreliable and quirky and likely side with the person who is not moving.

More on chewing gum: Did you know it increases your cognitive ability and aids in concentration? And it may be better than caffeine in durations shorter than 20 minutes?  Who knew?

So what is the verdict: Will you now chew gum?
