Jeffrey Marsalis

A reader asked me for my opinion about Jeffrey Marsalis, who was featured this week on Primetime.

I’ve been following this story about Jeffrey J. Marsalis, who is known as the “worst date rapist” ever in this country. Watching the case, I was curious what you would make of him. Watching his case, I saw (what I thought were) lies on both the sides, his accusers and he himself. A link to a video of him speaking can be found here: http://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/story?id=8069223&page=1

Read moreWhen I watched Marsalis speak, I see an arrogance and superiority complex that makes absolutely no sense, considering he has been accused of rape multiple times. If you are innocent and your name is being destroyed, you get angry and upset. You feel violated, and while Marsalis feigns anger, he does a horrible job of it. He is a horrible liar, if you want my opinion. He gives many clues to his deceit from thinking on his feet to inappropriate emotions and facial expressions to unusual tone of voice when he talks. I am happy to see that he has been locked up! I didn’t trust one word out of his mouth. He thinks he is smarter than everyone else, but thankfully, he has learned this is not so.

As for the women who accused him, I believe they are being genuine and honest. I did not detect deceit in the interviews that I saw during the Primetime show. These women were truly victims, and I do not believe for an instant any of them were making up the accusations that they were raped (as Marsalis suggested). Marsalis was a master at his craft and could fool many people. Worse, he chose victims, if you want my opinion, who were more trusting than the average person. He had a keen eye for picking out best targets for his crimes.

Marsalis Match.com Profile:

“I have to say that I am highly driven, and I am looking for that special someone that has the same qualities. … I am also looking for a woman to be a leader and take the initiative and make things happen for herself, and not blaming others for incidentals that might happen along the way during the pathway of life. … If you want to be my copilot on the magic carpet ride it’s carry on only, that means no stop signs, no stop lights, and throttle up.”

Chilling!
