Anita van der Sloot is the mother of Joran van der Sloot, a young man believed to have killed Stepany Flores and Natalee Holloway. She speaks out in her first interview here. As a mother, I don’t think there could be any greater pain in life than to know you have a murderer for a son. My heart goes out to his victims first and foremost, but it also goes out to her, too. I see her as a victim, too. I hope in someway she can find it in her heart to love Joran despite his sickness.
