Lindsay Lohan Sentenced to Jail

Revel sentenced Lohan to 90 days in jail Tuesday after ruling she violated probation in a 2007 drug case by failing to attend court-ordered alcohol education classes. Lindsay Lohan was in court yesterday because she violated the terms of her DUI probation from 2007. She failed to show up for weekly alcohol education classes seven times in December, says the Chicago Sun-Times. She also set off a silent alarm on her scram bracelet that she consumed alcohol after the MTV Music Awards on June 6, according to Celebritology (at the WashingtonPost.com). Lohan and her attorney deny the second accusation and the judge did not consider it a violation of her probation–just a bail restriction.

The co-owner of Right On, an alcohol-education program, took the stand yesterday and told the judge about Lohan’s absences. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the program co-owner… “Marshall said she was aware the program received a phone call from the judge in December saying she wanted Lohan to attend classes each week. But Marshall added she never got a paper copy of the order and did not consider it active.”

When Lohan addresses the court, she says:

Um, I just wanted to take a minute to say that, um, you know, I…as far as I know, I was in compliance with, um, my program, my Right On programs, and um, you know when I would ask to leave town, they would give me permission to leave town so that’s all I knew, that was coming to me. I wasn’t expecting any special treatment aside from the understanding that I have, I have to provide for myself…

…I know I was ordered to go once a week, um, and I wasn’t missing the classes just to hang out or do anything like that. I was working, mostly, and Morocco, the trip I was working with children and it wasn’t a vacation, it wasn’t some sort of a joke…

Lohan’s tearful plea to the judge was essentially a ridiculous, excuse-filled ramble, if you ask me. She believed she could “skirt” her way out of her responsibilities, again. Thank god the judge didn’t let her get away another time.

When the judge sentenced Lohan to 90 days in jail and 90 days for an inpatient rehab, Lindsay is completely surprised. She acts like a little school girl being given a detention. You see her mouth the word, “What?” She can’t believe it is happening to her. I think the only one Lohan is fooling is herself. She just hasn’t wised up to it like the rest of us.

While Lohan cried real tears of self-pity, she hits me as a woman who has gotten her way a few too many times in life and finally needs someone to draw the line and hold her accountable once and for all. I think her sentence was necessary and important. This girl is out of control!

Have you seen Lohan’s history?
