Elisa Baker’s Daughter Speaks

October 20, 2010 Press Conference
Catawba County Sheriff Tom Adkins and Caldwell County Sheriff Alan Jones

Investigators in the missing Zahra Baker case are currently searching a landfill for evidence in the case, though they say they do not expect to find Zahra’s body there. They said the search may take 5 days. The Sheriff said that “if we can find this evidence, we hope it will provide a good solid time line to assist us in working this case.”

Cheryl pointed out a good article that talks about Elisa Baker’s history and family. Her grown daughter, Amber Fairchild, came before the court to tell the judge that she believes her mom is a flight risk. Apparently, Elisa Baker, according to Fairchild, has been having an online relationship with a man in England (despite being married to Adam Baker) and has received $10,000 from this man. Fairchild also told the court that her mom talked of leaving North Carolina the day she was arrested.

Fairchild talked of having a difficult childhood. When asked if her mother, Elisa Baker “ever had a stable residence”, Fairchild said no.
