Are you a good liar?

I found the above video interesting.  It’s Richard Wiseman, a professor of Public Understanding of Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire (UK).  You can read more about him here.

“Some people will just see [my work] as fun and say, that’s interesting. I would hope a few people then go slightly beyond that and look at the implications. I want people to find that for themselves.”
—Richard Wiseman

So do you draw a Q for you to see or others?

Do you believe it equates with you being a good liar or not?

Thanks to Brent for sharing this!

Well, I’m a bad liar. But then I already knew that. It’s the only time I tend to stutter a bit! Lol not smooth about it at all. Nobody will ever need Eyes opinion on me!

Is it true that introverts are necessarily worse liars than extroverts? Wiseman appears to imply that in the video, but I could imagine that it wouldn’t necessarily be true; introverts spend more time reflecting and observing others, so that could also translate to being more astute about how to tell a believable lie.

The most interesting comment I got when I tried this on others was: ‘Which way do you want me to do it, so that you can read it or so that I can read it?’

I did the introverted Q, and I am an introvert, but I’m also very “good” at lying. (Quotes because I don’t think lying’s a good thing and I intentionally seek to not do it.)

However, I find it interesting to consider: Lying is something I learned. I’m also a very social introvert, and I enjoy observing people.

Also, I’m currently sitting in my apartment by myself. If someone else asked me to draw the Q on my forehead, I’d probably do it so they could read it.
