Eugene Arteta: Barbara Arteta’s Death

April 4, 2011/in Uncategorized/by Eyes for Lies

I wrote about Eugene Arteta after his wife, Barbara, went missing off an Amtrak train last September.  Her body was found dead beside the tracks half way to their destination after the train pulled into the station ending its journey. Eugene’s behavior in an interview after the incident flagged me. You can read my thoughts here.

On March 29, 2011, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution (AJC) wrote an update to the story. The first sentence of the article reads, “The mystery around the death of Barbara Arteta may never be solved.”

The AJC further wrote, “District Attorney Jackie Johnson wrote the GBI after reviewing the investigative file that there was not ‘sufficient evidence to support the elements of a crime or any identifiable suspects.’”

Barbara Arteta’s manner of death is listed as undetermined. You can read the article here.

It looks like we may never know what happened to Barbara, sadly.

Tiffany Hartley: Six Months Later

March 31, 2011/in murder/by Eyes for Lies

Tiffany Hartley went to the Colorado capital yesterday to put pressure on public officials to bring David’s body home. It’s been six months since David Hartley was allegedly killed in Mexico while the couple was jet skiing on Falcon Lake, a notoriously dangerous area.

Recalling the past six months, Tiffany strangely says, “It’s gone so fast, I can’t even believe we’re at six months.”

As usual, Tiffany reacts completely different than most people.  Most people when they have gone through a tragedy don’t feel like time has flown.  It usually stands still as they grieve and cope with their loss, but for Tiffany, oddly, time has flown by.  It makes you wonder if she has been having fun? You know the old saying, “Time flies when you are having fun.”  Hard to imagine.

Tiffany has given different accounts of what happened that day in the various interviews she have given and they definitely have my eyebrows raised high. I feel something is off.

I was glad to hear that according to this news report, the FBI says this is currently an ongoing investigation.

Eric Savitz wrote a blog post, The Untapped Power of Smiling, for Forbes online. It was a great read. I thought you would enjoy it. I apologize that posts are scant these days. I haven’t uncovered any great stories to be writing about so in the meantime, I thought this was fascinating. I hope you enjoy it and smile!
