Ronaiah Tuioasosopo on Dr. Phil: Part 2

Having watched both episodes of Dr. Phil with Ronaiah Tuioasosopo, I am just flabberghasted at this story. There are so many lies flying around that it is absurd, and keeping them all straight is a real challenge–even for someone like me.  Let me explain.

Some people are compulsive or pathological liars–that is when they talk they find it easier to lie than to tell the truth. It’s as if these people are compelled to lie, and that lying feels more natural to them than being honest.

If you’ve ever talked to a confessed compulsive liar, they will tell you that they don’t know why they do it. Even worse, they are often aware that they can tell the truth because there is no consequence for doing so, but they lie anyway– for no reason at all.  Read about compulsive liars here

I believe that Ronaiah is likely on of these people.  For him, I suspect, it is equally as easy to lie as it is to tell the truth.  Another person you may remember who clearly did this was Casey Anthony.  She could lie as easily as she could tell the truth.  There was no difference.  If anything, there is a comfort in being deceptive for these people, which drops their clues to deception at times.

It doesn’t mean they don’t leak clues–both Casey Anthony and Ronaiah Tuioasosopo leak clues, but they won’t leak clues in every lie they tell, if that makes sense, because there is little pressure on them like normal people.  It’s a completely different ball of wax, if you will.

With normal liars, its quite easy for me to pick out the truth and the lies and delineate them.  With a compulsive liar, I can pick out many of the lies, but when I see compulsiveness, I am hesitate to trust what comes across as believable.  Thankfully there are not a lot of compulsive liars.

Ronaiah is smooth as can be with Dr. Phil.  I was amazed at how he turned around his perpetrator confrontation and managed to make himself out the victim.  That’s quite an incredible feat, wouldn’t you say?   The twists and turns in this story just do not support reality, no matter how you slice it and he keeps coming up with story after story, if you want my opinion.

Worse, did you catch what he leaked with his words?   Dr. Phil asked if he had ever forgotten to use the Lennay voice with Manti?

Ronaiah said, “I’m not trying to be funny, but that’s a rookie mistake.”

Clearly, Ronaiah does not consider him to a be a rookie liar!  Wow.

I think that says it all.

Dr. Phil even calls Ronaiah out on the senseless lies he told to him in the video above–where it served absolutely no purpose for Ronaiah to lie to Dr. Phil– think compulsion!

According to Dr. Phil, when Ronaiah met him, he told Dr. Phil that he had called him before and watched his show, which he later confessed was all nonsense. Dr. Phil has to remind him a second time!  Go to the time 34:10 in the video above.  Classic compulsion.

Even with all of this, I still do not trust Manti Te’o and his story. I do not believe Te’o is just a blind victim in this story. There is so much more that will hopefully come out in the coming months, if not years…

Last, while someone may be a compulsive liar, it by itself is not a diagnosis.  You can read more here.

I hope you enjoyed my thoughts and perspective. Please give me a + 1 on Google if you did!  Thanks!

Ronaiah Tuioasosopo on Dr. Phil

Ronaiah Tuioasosopo was on Dr. Phil last night and what I saw wasn’t a surprise. I saw a man who, if you want my opinion, shared a lot of attributes with a woman we all know well:  Casey Anthony.  Dr. Phil even called him a “scam artist”.   Yes, I think that is accurate.

But do I think that he is the “mastermind” of the Te’o hoax?  No, I don’t.  Was he a player?  Yes. Were there more than two players (Ronaiah and Manti) who concocted this story?  Yes.  Ronaiah revealed that in his interview with Dr. Phil.  He leaked it out, if you caught it!

Do I believe Ronaiah was in love with Manti?  No, I don’t believe him–not at all.  Do I believe Ronaiah believes he is gay?  No, I don’t.

Ronaiah is someone who can look you straight in the face and say something he knows is not true–without any hesitation.  But you don’t even have to see through that to spot his dishonesty.

I have said from the beginning that the voicemails of Lennay are that of a woman, and the true test for Ronaiah would be to demonstrated that voice–exactly as Dr. Phil did, and as you can see in the video, he can’t do it.  Who is surpised?

According to Dr. Phil’s experts, the chances that was Ronaiah’s voice is one in ten million.  And what that tells us is Manti never heard a woman on the phone all these months as he tells us, and that means his story is deceptive as I have said from day one!  Yes, these two talked and they knew who they were talking to–I have no doubt about that.

Ronaiah gives so many hot spots to the story he tells us on Dr. Phil that I could literally write a book about him, like I could on Manti Te’o.

One of my favorite clues is how both of these men talk in third person when they are giving us “fudge”, and then go back to first person when they recount something true! It’s fascinating to watch.

I also can’t help but notice how Ronaiah is manipulative and thinks on his feet as he talks most of the time. He is not a man who talks from the heart — a good indication of sincerity.

Ronaiah leaked out the real reason he did what he did–to help out his friend — yes, that is the truth.

Manti Te’o’s Many Smiles

When you think of what Manti Te’o allegedly experienced, its pretty easy to understand the emotions one would feel in his situation, if they were duped as he said he was.  You’d experience a lack of trust, self-doubt, and some pretty intense humiliation for falling for such a stun for so long.  You’d feel sadness and anger that the one you thought you “loved” and “mourned” never really existed.  You’d feel completely insecure and likely would have problems talking to people admitting how foolish you were.

But oddly, Te’o seems to experience NONE of these emotions.

Watch his interview with Katie Couric with the volume off and tell me if you see any of these emotions…

I took some screenshots randomly through his interview. I think you’ll find them quite telling about how Te’o really feels about all of this…

Faces don’t lie!

It’s a little shocking, isn’t it?  He sure looks like a victim of a sick, twisted hoax.  NOT!

I’m amazed at how he is “protecting” his perpetrator, too. If you notice he doesn’t say anything negative about him at all nor does he ask any tough question, or demand he come out and speak the truth.  Hmmm…I wonder why?

Statement Analysis of Manti Te’o

I could literally write a book on the hotspots of Manti Te’o.  Here are a couple of my favorite ones. It’s Manti talking to Katie Couric yesterday.  Katie Couric said, “Was this intoxicating for you, in a way, Manti?
Manti replied, “I think, for me, the only thing that I basked in was that I had an impact on people; that people turned to me for inspiration. And I think that was the only thing I focused on.”
He continued…

My story, I felt, was… a guy who…. in times of hardship and in times of trial, um, really held strong to his faith, held strong to his family, and I felt that was my story.
What is so interesting about this statement is that he talks about his life as a “story”.  A story is usually a tale, or plot.
Notice how he doesn’t talk in first person about himself.  He suddenly is a character:  A guy, not “me” or “I”. Who talks like this about themselves? This is highly unusual by itself.
Isn’t it odd how he sums up everything that happened to him so easily after being through so much trauma?  Most people can do that after what he’s been through, but he sure can see clearly, can’t he?  It’s his plot:  “a guy who in times of hardship and in times of trial, held strong to his faith…and family.”
Is that what his story is really about, or was that what he was “selling” us?  If I didn’t know any better, I’d have no idea that he was a man who was scammed by one of the most embarrassing scams of a lifetime: a man impersonating a woman and he falls for it and in love, and he doesn’t even rank that? It’s laughable, if one is to believe this is true!

Can you hear the script?

It’s mind-blowing.  Think it is a fluke?

Here is another one:

To ESPN, Te’o says about his dad:
“I kind of tailored my storiesto have people think that yeah, hemet her before she passed away so people wouldn’t think I was some crazy dude.”

“He” being “Te’o”.  There he goes again talking about stories and characters!!!  Clearly, Te’o knows how to use first person just fine when it comes to real experiences — when people might think “I was some crazy dude.”

I could go on and on and on…

Some of my thoughts on Manti Te’o

Before Manti ever spoke out on Katie Couric, he was a known liar and he admitted as much.  Not only did he lie once, he did it repeatedly.  According to ABC and CNN, he did three interviews after knowing the truth where he continued to perpetuate the lie voluntarily–where he continued to support his perpetrator in their game against him instead of calling him out or at least remaining silent in an attempt to coverup what happened.  It defies logic.

The first time was on December 8, 2012. The second one was December 11 (a newspaper interview which I have not located according to ABC news), and the last was with the New York Post on December 30  (scroll down to see quote).

Why would Manti, if he was legitimately duped by a scammer, continue to talk about the scam as if it never happened?  He is in essence supporting the perpetrator by doing this!

Manti never tells us that he was in denial about what happened.  He said he was confused, but if he was confused, why didn’t he demand answers from the perpetrator and/or keep silent until he figured it all out?  That is what honest people would do.

No, instead Manti does something that makes no sense –he keeps volunteering to talk about the fictitious person Lennay who he knew didn’t exist.  Honest people who were victims of this “story” Manti wants us to believe he was a victim of would never do this. Ever. It’s absolutely mind-insulting rubbish!  When we are embarrassed, we stop talking and we retreat. We don’t keep furthering the lie we’ve been told because it is flat out too painful.

This story isn’t just a story of a man who falls for a woman on internet, she dies and he finds out she is alive.
Oh no, its much more grandiose than that.  A man falls madly in love for a woman who he NEVER MEETS, she gets into a car accident and nearly dies, but he NEVER cares enough to go see her ever, and offers every excuse under the sun as to why they couldn’t arrange to meet (and they aren’t even logical reasons). Then she gets cancer.  Yeah, really! And then goes into a COMA–amazingly horrible luck, wouldn’t you say, and she miraculously comes out of he coma when he is talking to her on the phone (WHAT ARE THE ODDS?), and she then gets sent home from the hospital.  She leaves him a voice message that day, all feminine and sweet and sounding in good health (but oh don’t forget she is a man), and then, oops, she dies overnight unexpectedly.

You’d think that was quite a story, wouldn’t you?  But oh no, that is not the half of it. SHE actually calls him back and says SHE is alive.  That is huge, but finding out you weren’t in love with a woman BUT A MAN, wouldn’t that be equally or even more DEVASTATING?

If you notice, however, Manti never talks about his conversation with the GUY who duped him. He conveniently forgets that. He talks about HER calling him back saying she was alive but nothing else.  Yes, he conveniently forgets so many things, I could write a novel about this twisted individual. He has no memory of any actual conversations. He only recollects concepts and not conversations.

If people were to put themselves in Manti’s shoes and buy his “story” which is all it is, they would see that few people would come out unscathed and smiling like Manti. No, if we were duped for months by someone like Manti was, a normal honest person would come out seriously affected and likely emotionally damaged. They would have a horrible time trusting people again. They would feel outrageously and off-the-charts stupid and dumb. They would have no self-esteem to even be seen in public let alone talk about it. To simply say the word “Lennay” would be so painful it would bring people to dripping tears, if not even suicidal. But not Manti. He is always the exception time and time again, and when we see this many exceptions, the chances that this is a sick out-of-control lie skyrocket, folks, and we are on the moon already.

Imagine you were just told you won the lottery in an email and you believed it.  You tell the world that you have won a million bucks.  You get so happy, feel so good and then boom, you find out it was a scam. You didn’t win anything.  You were taken by an Algerian scam.  Are you going to go on TV and do interviews about other things AND bring up how you are still a winner?  Clearly you can see the insanity of this!  Of course you wouldn’t, if you were honest! If you were part of the scam, well, you might just keep perpetuating the story.

When I watched Katie Couric, every single word and movement of Teo wreaked of deception.  There wasn’t a sentence that supported the truth. Not one.  I will write about that next.
