The Long Island Serial Killer

Here is a fascinating review of the horrific crimes that have taken place on Long Island in New York, and interviews with family, friends and parties who were involved with the victims.

I have been asked to share my opinion of Michael Pak, the driver of Shannan Gilbert, a prostitute who was last seen by Michael Pak.

Michael Pak is definitely noteworthy. What he says in this interview simply doesn’t make sense. The very first thing I notice about Michael is that he is very nervous.

Michael says he was asked to get Shannan out of the house she was in. He recalls that “She freaked out. She says you guys are trying to kill me, and she went behind the couch and crouched down, so I went there and I looked there, and I said ‘Shannon, what are you doing?'”

I believe Shannan was afraid she was trying to be killed.

Michael then wonder if she is messed up on drugs, so he says he tries to test her by asking her if she’s seen the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I find this very odd.

Then he recalls she said yes, so that satisfied him. He says, “Oh, okay, so she is coherent, she’s just acting.”

What?! Acting? Who would think this? Does this make any sense to anyone? This sounds absurd!

Michael continues, “And then like I heard a 911 operator…uh…a…a lady on her phone…and that’s when I realized…oh…she’s on the phone with 911.” When Michael says this, I sense incredible nervousness.

Michael says, “Oh, she’s trying to set me up, she says you guys are trying to kill me, she wants me to leave, so I left.”

Next Michael says after he left the house, he saw Shannan running from the house and he turned to follow her. Why would he call for her and follow her if he left because he thought she was going to blame him for trying to kill her? This is a big contradiction. And what are the odds that Shannan feared she be killed and she is?

Michael’s story makes no sense.

I do believe that Michael was looking for Shannan, but I’m not buying the story he is giving us.

What does this mean? It simply means I don’t believe Michael Pak is telling us the true story of what happened, but I cannot say anything more than that. Was he involved in Shannan’s death? I do not know. I definitely would need to see more to find out why he is lying. The reasons at this point could take one in many different directions….

I think Pak killed Shannan out of frustration. IMO he strangled her just outside the neighborhood and dropped her not far off the side of the road he would have driven to get back to NYC. He had ample time to clean his car if there was evidence of homicide and he was allotted time to think up an alibi/story before being interviewed/looked at. He and Shannan were thinking of starting an escort business together. There was motiv for him to become enraged at the thought that she could have potentially ruined their future business plans by calling 911 while simultaneously putting them both at high risk to be accused of illegal activity.

I don’t think her murder is connected to the serial killer’s victims though and I don’t think Pak is the serial killer. He’s a murderer maybe IMO, but not an SK.
