Joran: Two Different Stories Already

“El Comercio,” a Peruvian newspaper, is reporting (in Spanish) that Joran gave a totally different account of what happened the night Flores was murdered to Chilean officials on June 3 before he was deported back to Peru where he confessed to killing Flores.

At some point, Joran talks about going back to his hotel room and finding a man in his bed, with a pistol in his belt, and another man emerged from the bathroom with a knife. One of the guys supposedly hit Flores. Joran says these were the same guys that pulled them over earlier.

I suspect the story goes that these men must have killed Stephany, at this point.

A reader of Eyes for Lies blog, “L”, gave me the heads up on this story (thanks!) and “L” suggests that Joran must not have realized that there were security cameras on him at this point.

Oops!! Do you think that might have helped the police get a confession? How many stories will Joran ultimately tell? He has a track record of changing things all the time.

The security/surveillance cameras are not going to give Joran much wiggle room, but I don’t believe Joran’s most recent confession, either, that he came back from getting coffee, and finds Flores on his computer searching for him. The idea that she was just sitting around in her underwear (and nothing else), goofing off on his computer, and then confronts a man she supposedly realizes is the “Joran van der Sloot”, I’m not buying that either. He still hasn’t come 100% clean, if you ask me, or maybe the police haven’t released all the details…
