Zahra’s Visitation

Little Zahra Baker’s story is the stuff of nightmares. A sweet little girl gets sick with cancer, she loses her leg to the disease and has to wear a prosthetic. Neighbors talk of seeing Zahra abused by her stepmom, and then one day Zahra disappears. Her biological mom is in another country unable to locate her daughter.

News reports surface that the little girl could have been put through a wood chipper. Now drains are being searched for evidence. While the little girl’s DNA has been found and her death ruled a homicide, the facts of this case are still not in. We’ve heard there may be two more suspects in the murder of litle Zahra–one of which was a friend of Zahra’s stepmom. The nightmares don’t stop and now to hear that there was no family at her visitation, it’s just overwhelmingly sad. Where on earth was her father, Adam Baker? You just can’t imagine such horrors go on…but the realization is that they do.

Next time you see a child who looks like they need help, think of Zahra.  If only someone would have become her advocate and fought her, maybe this wouldn’t have happened.
