Amy Winehouse’s Parents Speak to Anderson

Amy Winehouse’s parents and family spoke on Anderson Cooper’s debut show yesterday saying that their daughter died because she was a serious drunk who stopped drinking, and that caused her to have a seizures.

Her dad, Mitch, stood steadfast that no drugs were found in Amy’s body at all.  Then he said that she had just one pill of Librium, a drug prescribed to alcoholics to help them withdrawal.

I’m not buying their story.  It seems too convenient for me.  I think there is more to this story than what they want to acknowledge.

When I watched the videos of Amy over the years, she used to be a healthy weight and then in the last few months, her weight plummeted dramatically. She became bone thin.  Alcoholics as a general rule are not anorexic, but drug addicts often are. It’s just another clue to what the real story was.

I also found it odd how Amy’s dad admitted that when we got the call, before he was told, he knew Amy was dead.  Why would he expect that?  Most alcoholics who quit don’t die because of it.  I found this really odd.

And furthermore, if he knew his daughter was having life-threatening seizures, why wouldn’t he insist that she be with someone 24/7 and get help?  If he did, you think he’d talk about it.  He never does.

When I look up Librium, this is not a drug you want to mix with alcohol or anything as it can be very dangerous.  I suspect Amy did something other than stop drinking, but will we ever know the truth?  I’ve seen so many famous people pass where I am suspicious the truth was never revealed.  Will this be another case?

Dr. Drew seems to think along the same lines as I do. Amy Winehouse’s parents are in denial about how and why their daughter died, if you asked me.
