Thank you for posting the update. It will be interesting to see what information is released to the media in the weeks and months ahead.

    Hi Eyes,

I find interesting that it was agg. murder he was arrested for.  Based on the statutes (that you posted elsewhere), there is either torture or murder for hire as an option.  This case is not closed and the trial is far off.

You never said the husband did it.  You, as well as many others (myself included), flagged behaviors and expressions that are still alarming to me.  Perhaps he didn’t kill her, but he’s glad she’s gone.  Perhaps he’s more involved.  Perhaps he’s simply a person who doesn’t care much for anyone else, and he enjoyed all the media attention.  I saw him laughing and faking it.  There is an explanation for that.  We just don’t know what that explanation is.

You are wrong about the agg. murder statute. Murder committed in the commission of a felony qualifies, and kidnapping is a felony.

I cannot believe you and others here are STILL trying to put any of this on the husband. Is it that hard to admit you were wrong?

Here is the definition of AGG MDR in Oregon: http://www.oregonlaws.org/ors/163.095 We are just trying to understand the case–nothing more. Why was Holt charged with AGG MDR?

From reading the statutes, kidnapping in Oregon is a separate charge. I’m not a lawyer, so if there is one and they can share their thoughts, it would be interesting to understand!

Thank goodness investigators aren’t as quick as some of the people in this comment section. We’d never get justice, if they were! Getting to the truth takes time, folks!

I think it’s so hard for Eyes for Lies to admit that she’s ever wrong, that she goes out of her way to post such ‘mistakes’ on her website (Halfway down the page https://www.eyesforlies.com/trackrecord.htm “Cases I got wrong on this blog”).

If you believe that Eyes said “the husband is guilty”, I can see why–in light of Jon Holt’s arrest–you are now ‘asking’ her “Is it that hard to admit you were wrong?”.

If you had instead heard her use the Terms of the Trade, like what many other readers heard–that Eyes “is baffled”, “sees hotspots”, “very odd”, “needs to be looked at”–I have trouble understanding what effect the arrest has in either contradicting or confirming her perceptions and concerns.

The husband is NOT acting like a ‘normal’ or ‘average’ husband. He had a hard time keeping himself from LAUGHING while talking about her, calls her a “PERSON” not his love his wife etc., and shows NO sadness…..and I don’t buy into people being drugged up not showing any emotion. The husband is weird, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he was either involved in some way or just plain happy she’s gone….sad….

My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Whitney, esp. as a former resident of that community and patron at all of the businesses involved in this case. Emotions are running high and people say things that they later regret in reaction to Eyes’ analysis of Clint’s expressions. I do trust what Eyes has to say about these issues. Keeping in mind what may come to light in the future, could it be possible that the smile was either “I can’t believe this is happening to me, this is a circus, it’s all so surreal” or “what am I going to say and will I look like a fool” or something else?

I studied all the Facebook photos and comments for a long while and it seems as though Clint was nothing but a loving, caring and supportive husband. Many people rushed to judgment or concern (myself included) and I do feel regret over that. Perhaps at some point Clint can address what was going through his mind at the time of this macro expression. Not sure whether he’ll remember though; those of us who’ve been in similar situations have so many jumbled thoughts, emotions and memories. –PCF

Hi. Now that someone else has been arrested, do you still think the husband is involved? Could his behavior be do to feeling guilty that he was not able to prevent this from happening? Guilt from not being able to protect his mate and so he feels responsible? I’m interested in your thoughts on this.

I would like to know what the motive was and how close Holt was to the couple. I would like, also, to know, if Whitney ever expressed any uneasiness about being around Holt. We may never find out about that, however. What a shame! She really looked like a sweet, pretty girl. I hope Holt never gets loose on society, again.

    1. I was surprised to hear a reporter tell everyone that there has been arrest so people don’t have to worry that there was someone out there. WHAT? Irresponsible, if you ask me. 2. Yeah, how well did these three know each other? 3. Any more recent video on the husband yet?

I think the police know this wasn’t a random incident where the public at large was at risk, or if it was, the perpetrator is behind bars now. I think they are being reasonable, personally. Holt was married and Clint Heichel cared for their plants and cat when the Holts’ went out of town and the two men repaired a motorcycle together. There is an updated video on the front page of the blog.
