Dalia Dippolito Back Again

Dalia Dippolito’s story was featured on ABC’s 20/20 this past weekend. If you aren’t familiar with Dalia’s story, you’ve missed a very, very interesting case to say the last. Luckily for Dalia’s husband, Michael, Dalia didn’t get her wish carried out. Instead, she got charged with solicitation of first-degree murder and sentenced to 20-years behind bars because she asked the wrong man, an undercover cop, to kill her husband.

Oops!

The story is now taking on more twists and turns. Dalia got her case reversed out of concerns that her jury may have been biased because of pretrial media and she is scheduled for a new trial this May (2016). Dalia is out on home arrest and wearing an ankle monitor until her trial.

Dalia’s defense is that she was somehow set up to be part of a reality TV show, and it was all just a game. Do you believe her?

Oscar Pistorius Found Guilty of Murder on Appeal

I think many people will be happy to read that the South African Appeals Court has upgraded Oscar Pistorius’ charge from culpable murder to homicide! Now we have to wait for him to be sentenced again. Let’s hope they give him a sentence deserving of a murderous act.

You can read my analysis of Oscar Pistorius from February 2013 here.

Dylan Redwine Story on Dr. Phil

Yesterday, Dr. Phil spent the last 15 minutes of his show talking with Elaine Redwine, mother of Dylan, 14, who missing on November 9, 2012.

Dylan’s parents were divorced and Dylan flew in to spent some time with his dad. On the day after his arrival, Mark, Dylan’s father said his son wouldn’t get up in the morning, so he went to run errands without him. When he came back, Dylan was missing.

Dylan’s remains were found in June 2013 on a mountain side 10 miles drive from Mark Redwine’s house, and according to reports only 2% of his remains were actually found.

Dr. Phil had Mark and Elaine Redwine on before, and I have seen both parents in multiple interviews. The last time Mark was on Dr. Phil he agreed to take a polygraph and then admitted to heavy drinking the night before the test, which if I remember right disqualified him for the test. And now, this time, Dr. Phil offered for him to take a lie detector again, and he refused. This does not concern me at all. Mark is not the type of guy who functions well under pressure. Furthermore, he talks about a polygraph he took prior to this one, and I can’t help but wonder if it came out inconclusive, and hence why Mark has fears. I would have fears too if I took a polygraph and it couldn’t tell if I was truthful when I was. I absolutely wouldn’t take another one. Why on earth would anyone take that risk on something that isn’t even scientific?

I do not see any hotspots in Mark’s behavior that indicate to me that he is being deceptive about his son’s disappearance in this interview. The police have been to Mark Redwine’s house and Elaine’s latest request (for her to go to his house with the sheriff) wouldn’t serve any other purpose but to try to pin the crime on Mark again. I think he was wise to refuse her request. The police have already executed a search warrant for Mark’s house. It isn’t like she would get “new” information to solve the crime. The Sheriff already did that.

I do see Dylan’s mom, Elaine, bent on a mission to convince people that Mark is the murderer rather than to actually find the truth. This concerns me. In Elaine Redwine’s initial interviews, she was inconsistent, and flagged me, though I specifically stated it doesn’t mean that she was involved. I cannot say what the inconsistencies mean. I can just say she was inconsistent. Mark hasn’t flagged me as deceptive. I had a couple of questions I wanted to ask him from previous interviews, but overall, nothing jumps out at me.

This case is a true mystery. I’d like to be able to sit down and talk to both parents to get to the heart of this story, personally.

Italian Court Overturn’s Knox Conviction

Amanda Knox got word today she is a free woman as Italy’s highest court overturned her conviction.  There is no doubt she is a happy woman.  The Meredith Kercher family, however, must feel disappointed.

While I think the Italian courts made a mockery of the case with wild speculation and outlandish claims that were not based on evidence, but rather whimsy, I still don’t believe Knox was innocent and uninvolved.    There are so many elements over the years that give me great pause with her and make me not trust her.

I believe she knew a lot more than she ever revealed and still do.

Feel free to click on her name in the tag above to see some of the posts I have written over the years.

If enough people have interest, I can re-summarize why I don’t believe her. Let me know if you are interested below.

I hope Meredith Kercher’s family finds peace.

Megan Huntsman: Admitted Killing Her Six Babies

Megan Huntsman made the news yesterday after her estranged husband, Darren West, was at the house where her two young adult children and teenager lived.  He was cleaning out the garage when he found a dead infant’s body in a box. He called the police. Upon investigation, police found six more more bodies for a total of seven deceased babies.

The story is absolutely mortifying. And when you read the news, its quite surprising to hear the neighbors speak well of Huntsman.  She even babysat for the neighbor’s grandchildren! Chilling in hindsight.

For a woman to do this, you would think that she suffered some mental illness that other people might have picked up on.

Many of you are wondering what expression she is making in the photo above, which I suspect was taken when she was taken into custody.

First, I notice the stress in the forehead, which is indicated by the wrinkles.

Second, I notice her oblique eyebrows, which can indicate either stress, concern, or sadness.  Or all of the above.

And last I notice her eyes which are unusually wide open, and display a fear look to me. They could also indicate surprise.

To me, her expression is indicative of a woman who is totally stressed out and concerned for her well-being, and has the potential to be suffering from a mental illness. Her expression is very unique to say the least and often odd expressions come from mental illness because the brain fires confusing signals that you and I don’t get.
