The Change in Opinions on Oscar Pistorius

I found it fascinating to look at the public opinion of Oscar Pistorius from last October to now.  A lot of people changed their mind.  I never believed Oscar from day one and I am happy that the public now sees the truth and Oscar Pistorius for who he is!  Victory! Does the change in opinion surprise you?

Oscar Pistorius Found Guilty of Murder on Appeal

I think many people will be happy to read that the South African Appeals Court has upgraded Oscar Pistorius’ charge from culpable murder to homicide! Now we have to wait for him to be sentenced again. Let’s hope they give him a sentence deserving of a murderous act.

You can read my analysis of Oscar Pistorius from February 2013 here.

Oscar Pistorius Gets Five Years

Oscar Pistorius received his sentence today, and it was a slap on the wrist if you ask me. I believe Oscar Pistorius killed Reeva in an emotional outburst.

The judge in the case said, “I am of the view that a non-custodial sentence would send a wrong message to the community. On the other hand, a long sentence would not be appropriate either, as it would lack the element of mercy.”

Who on earth believes Pistorius should get mercy? I find this shocking, but not as shocking and as arrogant as what the judge said next.

Judge Thokozile Masipa said, “Society cannot always get what they want. Courts do not exist for a popularity contest but only to dispense justice … The general public may not even know the difference between punishment and vengeance.”

That statement shocked me as extremely arrogant–that the people are likely clueless to determine such.

Ironically, I believe that Pistorius actually killed Reeva in vengeance, and this judge doesn’t see it sadly, or doesn’t want to, perhaps.

According to this news reports, it is believed that Pistorius may only serve 10-20 months in prison, and then will be allowed to serve the remainder of time in house arrest.

Unbelievably sad and quite privileged.

I fear for the next woman who dates this man as he is unable to control his emotions.

Oscar Pistorius Trial: Not Premeditated?

The judge’s opinion in this case is somewhat straddling two worlds if you ask me. Matt Gutman says the judge doesn’t believe that Oscar was trying to defend himself and Reeva, but that the prosecution’s claim that he intended to shoot her behind the bathroom door also don’t hold water.

What does she believe? I’m curious to hear!

Is she looking to set him free? I’m nervous.

I believe Oscar Pistorius by his own words and the evidence known got into an argument that night with Reeva, and he had a violent temper outburst and killed her in a heat of rage. Did he premeditate the killing as in plan it ahead? No. I don’t believe so.

I believe Oscar Pistorius snapped.

He also didn’t have immediate regrets either as he clearly had no urgency to get her to a hospital quickly. He doesn’t call the ambulance first. No, he calls his friend wasting precious time. That says everything. Did he even try CPR?

I believe Oscar willingly and knowingly murdered Reeva in a fit of rage, and I am very saddened that he will not be convicted of such.
