Somer Thompson’s Killer Confesses: Gets Life

Somer Thompson disappeared in October 2009 and her body was found not long after in a landfill.  Somer’s mother, Diena Thompson, made many media appearances in her quest to get justice for her daughter.

In all honesty, and as shown on my blog, I found Diena Thompson’s behavior odd and I without question, did not believe Diena Thompson.

I have stated repeatedly in my blog while I do not believe someone, it does not believe that I am accusing them of murder.  While I can see lies with high accuracy, I never know why the lie is being told or what is being covered up.

I have always been suspicious that Diena knew more about what happened the day Somer disappeared than she was letting on, but so far, nothing has come to light to show otherwise, so at this point, I feel that I must admit I was wrong.

I misread Diena Thompson and I apologize publicly to her and anyone for my lack of trust. I try hard to understand people, but inevitably, I will fail.  I am human.

Today, Jarred Harrell, the man police arrested months after Somer’s murder, has plead guilty to killing Somer.  He was sentenced to life in prison.

From News4Jax.com, “Harrell admitted that he confined Somer, sexually assaulted her, lewdly touched her in private areas and strangled her. He admitted that he then put her body in a container and then put the container in a Dumpster.”

I apologize…truly.
